WordPress multisite lets you run a network of sites from one WordPress installation. If you run Advanced Coupons on a multisite network, the install, activation and update steps differ from a standard site, and the license requirement is different too.
Multisite needs a license with unlimited site activations. On Advanced Coupons that is the Unlimited Sites license or the All Access Bundle. See the license section below for why a Single Site or 3 Sites license will not activate.
Installing on multisite
- As Super Admin, install the plugin on the network site. This makes it available to every subsite.
- In Network Admin, go to Advanced Coupons and open the License tab, then activate your license there. On multisite the license is managed for the whole network, so this page replaces the per-site license screen and needs network administrator access.
- If you do not need the plugin on the network site itself, you can deactivate it there and activate it only on the subsites that need it. The license stays activated for the network either way.
Updating the plugin on multisite
Go to the network site and activate the plugin to see the update notice. Once it updates on the network site, it updates for all of your subsites as well.
License requirements for multisite
On a multisite network the license is checked across the whole network. Any license with a set number of sites is refused, even when you only enable the plugin on one site in the network.
- Advanced Coupons (Single Site): 1 site. Not valid on multisite.
- Advanced Coupons (3 Sites): 3 sites. Not valid on multisite.
- Advanced Coupons (Unlimited Sites): unlimited sites. Valid on multisite.
- All Access Bundle: unlimited sites for every included plugin. Valid on multisite.
If your license does not cover multisite, activation reports that a license with unlimited site activations is required. To resolve it, upgrade to Unlimited Sites from My Account, then Subscription. You pay the prorated difference and your renewal date does not change.
