Our latest feature makes managing loyalty rewards a lot simpler for store owners. Now, you can convert loyalty points to store credits right from your WooCommerce dashboard! This gives you better control over how you reward, compensate, and support your valued shoppers.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to make the most of this update and why it matters for your store. Let’s dive right in!
Feature Overview: Convert Loyalty Points For Customers
As your store grows and you serve more customers, your loyalty program should stay flexible. Often, this entails adjusting how you manage redemptions when you need to reward or compensate loyal shoppers.
With our newest feature, WooCommerce store admins can now convert a customer’s loyalty points into store credits directly from the dashboard.
This means there’s no need to:
- Use a User Switching plugin to log in as the customer just to redeem points
- Manually deduct loyalty points and add store credits to the shopper’s account.
These past workarounds are time-consuming and prone to errors, especially when you’re managing multiple customer accounts.
Now, all it takes is a few clicks from your settings page to convert a customer’s loyalty points to store credits. It’s a simple change with a big impact on how you manage your rewards system and give customers a smoother shopping experience.
How To Convert Loyalty Points To Store Credits For A Customer (Tutorial)
Redeeming loyalty points for a customer is quick and easy. However, before following along with this tutorial, make sure that you have installed and updated WooCommerce Loyalty Program. If you haven’t done so already, you can get the plugin here.
With that out of the way, let’s go through the steps!
Step 1: Head to your Loyalty Program Customers page
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Coupons > Loyalty Program > Customers. This is where you can find a list of all active customers on your loyalty program.
Step 2: Select the customer you want to redeem points for
Choose which customer you want to redeem points for and click “View Stats.” This page gives you a detailed overview of their total loyalty points, earning history, and redemption activity.

If needed, you can also increase or decrease points manually using the Adjust Points section above the new feature area.
Step 3: Convert loyalty points into store credits
Scroll down to the new “Redeem Points” section. This is where you can manually redeem loyalty points for a specific customer.

You’ll also see a few helpful details and tools to guide you:
- Available Points: Shows the total number of points the customer currently has.
- Max Button: Use this option to automatically fill in the customer’s maximum available points for full redemption.
- Store Credits Value: Displays the equivalent store credit amount before you confirm. This gives you a preview of how much credit will be issued.
In the example below, we’ll convert 200 loyalty points (equivalent to $20 in store credits) for customer Kim Kibum.
After entering the points amount, click “Redeem.” A confirmation will appear, summarizing the conversion details. Double-check and click “Proceed” to finalize.
Once completed, a success message will confirm that the redemption has been processed.
💡 GOOD TO KNOW: WooCommerce Loyalty Program lets you set a custom points-to-price ratio under the plugin’s General Settings tab. This gives you full control over how generous your rewards system is. Learn more about setting the best points structure for your store here.
Step 4: Confirm the update
Once the conversion is complete, you’ll see the redeemed points reflected in the customer’s Points History section, and their Store Credits balance will update instantly.

From here, your customers can use their store credits on future orders. Here’s how it looks during checkout:

Pretty convenient, right?
Why This Feature Matters To Your Store (Benefits & Use Cases)
Running a loyalty program is all about creating rewarding experiences for your valued shoppers. With our newest feature, you gain even greater control and flexibility over your rewards strategy, so you can create a system that keeps customers coming back. Here’s how it helps:
1. Strengthens your rewards strategy
The option to convert loyalty points for customers makes it easier for you to design and refine a rewards system that matches the needs of your business. You’re no longer limited to self-service points redemptions, giving you more opportunities to delight customers with strategic rewards.
With this new feature, you can easily:
- Adjust redemptions manually when testing new incentives or loyalty structures
- Easily transition to a store-credit-based rewards system if your loyalty program evolves
- Offer instant bonuses or surprise credits to boost customer excitement
- Reward high-value customers with additional credits during special campaigns
- Rebalance points and credits when adjusting your pricing or reward tiers
This level of control helps ensure your loyalty program evolves with your business needs without using complicated workarounds or disrupting the customer shopping experience.
💡 GOOD TO KNOW: Advanced Coupons (free plugin) extends the default coupon features of WooCommerce and lets you add a store credit system to your store instantly.
2. Enhances customer support flexibility
A little flexibility goes a long way, especially when you’re smoothing out an issue with a customer or offering a goodwill gesture to make up for a missed opportunity. This feature allows you to quickly redeem points and issue them as store credits without jumping through hoops.
Here are just a few instances when this option comes in handy:
- Quickly convert unused points into store credits as a one-time gesture to retain a customer
- Help less tech-savvy shoppers who struggle to redeem their points on their own
- Resolve redemption issues faster, such as when a customer accidentally lets points expire
It’s a small change that empowers your team to act quickly while keeping customer trust.
3. Simplifies loyalty program management
Before, redeeming points on behalf of a customer required logging in as them (using tools like User Switching) or adjusting balances manually. Now, you can handle it all from the dashboard in just a few clicks. This simplifies loyalty program management and helps you:
- Reduce errors from manual points and credit adjustments
- Centralize redemptions so you don’t need to toggle between user roles or plugins
- Easily track conversions and redemptions through the customer’s activity log
The overall result is a cleaner and more streamlined loyalty program that makes rewarding customers easy.
